Kamala Harris is "one of the most fluent prose stylists ever to run as a plausible presidential candidate?" Please provide some evidence other than "I was raised a middle-class kid" or "unburdened by what has been" or her other greatest hit about the fragility of Democracy. In other words, pull the other one, pal.

This might be what makes me put in a call to a mental health crisis centre for Bob. There are hours of footage of Kamala talking about as coherently as Joe Biden who (having worked years in dementia care) clearly has dementia--and not even onset. Kamala was one of the most bizarre speakers. Should would string words together that made no sense, and speak in riddles than never ended.

The point being is that not of that even matters, considering the fact that the Democrats are green-lighting and materially-supporting a literal Holocaust in Palestine, and pushing us to the brink of WWIII by installing a neo-Nazi state right on the border of a superpower with nukes. Your brain would have to be cottage cheese to admire anything about any of the Democrats--even Bernie who capitulated to all this to save his wife.

King Sunny Ade and Terry Allen almost right next to one another in your ruminations on genius. Yeah, Absofuckinglutely on both in my zeitgeist. Of course I'm kinda partial to Terry as I did sing on an album of Terry's standing at the mic with Lucinda Williams to one side of me and David Byrne on the other – two more geniuses. Maybe, if I'm lucky, a smidgeon of genius rubbed off on me.

Enjoyed this one, but I almost always enjoy them. Bought the two books. I'm excited to read them!

Thank you for the shoutout to MSNBC and Lawrence O’Donnell in particular, a Boston boy and once consultant on the West Wing, one of my favorite shows of all time. And I agree that having msnbc with us is comforting, especially Rachel and Lawrence and their “snark” if that is the right word. We are not going through this alone- they know exactly what is going on, and it is so painful to watch as things unfold and realize that there doesn’t seem to be a damn thing that anyone can do about it.

Did you just walk out of the womb? Capitalists and financiers own both parties, they didn't care who won (as long as they get to blow the limbs off children overseas), they're waging a culture war psy-op on you, you fell for it, and are childish enough to believe there's much difference between Trump or Harris. We could literally all die in nuclear Armageddon tomorrow because of what BOTH parties have been pushing in Ukraine for years, but ya'll are scared of a boogeyman who doesn't even exist that lives in your brain.

Probably the least important thing to comment on this time around, but Elton John’s records from the last several decades suck, the “serious” ones and the frivolous ones alike. I say this as a childhood fan who has tried several times to give him the benefit of the doubt. Really mediocre stuff.

There’s more music in Kamala’s speeches than in “The Captain and the Kid,” not to mention the original “Captain Fantastic.” She had fewer hit singles than Elton, but is a far more consistent album artist.

Not nearly as badly as Kamala Harris's stuff! Come on, give Reg a break. Lots of diamonds amongst the dross.
